Welcome to the Party

Testimonials

Welcome to the Party depicts the all-too-common and unfortunate outcome of combining youth, alcohol, peer pressure and hormones. It shows what can happen when good students lose their inhibitions and get carried away. Hopefully, those who watch this film will recognize the dangers of social pressure, drugs and alcohol, and sex drives. The lessons from this film can help prevent sexual assaults.

Every freshman student needs to see this film in the first three weeks of their college life.

This film is disturbingly real.

After seeing this I will approach the party world with much more caution.

Welcome to the Party is as realistic a statement about the dangers of mixing inexperience and alcohol as I can imagine. The students who experience the rape and its aftermath are our students and children. All of the adult lecturing we do cannot possibly have the effect of this film. It screams date rape is real!

Welcome to the Party is not an ordinary teaching video. It is a creative, awareness-raising event which aims for our hearts. It drives us into a dark abyss where deadly combinations of alcohol, lust, and lack of empathy misdirect college students into brief journeys that scar for an eternity. It is painfully, clinically accurate and will draw students into rich discussions which can hopefully prevent future wounds to the soul. It should be required viewing for all college students.

The issue of alcohol and sexual assault has reached epidemic portions when we hear that 97,000 females between the age of 18-24 have been victims of alcohol related sexual assault or acquaintance rape. "Welcome to the Party" sends a powerful realistic message about the connection between alcohol and sexual assault and provides opportunities to address this important issue with both males and females. This is by far the best video on the subject that I've seen. A "must" see for all college students. I applaud the wisdom of those who had the vision for its creation and believe it has great potential to make a difference in preventing sexual assault.

We are a sound bite and visual culture so this cautionary tale of college partying, alcohol use, and sexual predation is a very powerful vehicle. Potential unwitting predators, victims, and party goers will sit up and take notice. Welcome hits them in a way lectures and advice do not.
